If There Is Hope Not If There Is Life

hope

I grow up hearing this phrase “if there is life there is hope“, its mostly said to encourage those who are passing through a  difficult time. It often used when one noticed someone is being hopeless.

I grow up believing this phrase so much that i in turn have used it to both encourage myself and others.

The beautiful thing about life is that it has a way of teaching us new things and also teaching us to know what we believe might not just be right. I learn that the opposite of hope is not Hopeless but despair, and so i began to question the above phrase.

The rate at which people commit suicide is at an alarming high rate (Even in Africa) and number of people falling into depression is high too, looking at the stat for suicide and depression i was forces to ask this logical question “if life begat hope then why the suicide and depressions?”.

Your answer might be just as mine, Life does not give hope, rather it is hope that gives life. The phrase should be “IF THERE IS HOPE THERE IS LIFE” , each and every single person that is depressed of commit suicide had life yet reach the point of despair.

In life we should do our best to get people into having HOPE because that will be what will keep there life going and not just tie people down with Just having LIFE, HOPE is the building block to life, we should have hope that no matter how bad the situation or circumstance are there is always light at the end of the tunnel, after the rain comes sunshine.

Learn to give people Hope.

His dancing steps and melodious voice couldn’t be ignored by passersby. He sings and dances without musical instruments yet those who listened and watched him wished he was not mad for the ecstasy he gave to them. His love life and marriage to Cynthia, another mad woman in the village was an envy of many couples. Samade and Cynthia had lived together in a self built self-containe under the popular bridge at Orile junction for 22 years. There were several times the villagers saw them quarreling but no one…
